Application engineering from the Accu Tech USA team, start to finish.

Pennsylvania

Faster Assembly for a CNC Lathe Builder

A Pennsylvania manufacturer builds a CNC lathe for turning spindles, posts, columns and baseball bats. Assembly was taking too long because another supplier had specified standard linear rails butted together, and the extra fitting time was hurting production and margins.

Accu Tech USA representatives visited the plant to learn the machine and the process, then recommended jointed rails with precision butt joints. The assembly technician saw right away that the change would save hours on every build.

The team then moved the machine to a ball screw and linear guide assembly from TBI Motion and PMI, which cut downtime and maintenance. The customer has since ordered additional assemblies to increase production.

"We start every project by learning how the customer's machine is built and used. That is how we found the change that saved this team hours on every build."Diana Frost, Accu Tech USA
